New Year

oh well ..............here we go another year - so Happy New Year to all - hopefully it will be a peacefull one, less catastophic for the world and a creative one for my fellow artists ;-)

I do have ambitions for 2006 - not least of all 3 exhibitions! So straight after new year celebrations it is heads down for some serious work!

Its snowing here ...........................kind of suitable for the time of year - and oh so pretty............

Hoping you are having a great timel whoever 'you' may be that I havent met yet. Hope that the year ahead is a blessed time for everybody. That the creativity flows and the inspiration is always there when you need it !

I also truly hope that you enjoy the journey of the next year......................................... amen!

Illustration Friday

Ok - so I joined this group called Illustration Friday and every week we get a topic to sketch - great idea thinks me who needs all the help I can get with my art work. So this weeks topic - awaited with anticipation- was 'Flavour'!

Hhhhhmmmm ........wasnt at all sure about that so just sat and doodled. I had a great time - I love doodling ;-)

So I have scanned it in ............but as you can see it is back to front! :0) It actually says -Flavour of the month - cant explain the drawings or the connections , I just let my pens wander .............. so no excuses...........

Yuk! lots of shovelling today ! Ulf helped me , thank goodness so that made the task easier and quicker ..........

Settling and deciding

Now trying to 'format' this blog! There are so many choices ............ and styles - guess I must decide which I like best and will suit my postings!

Snow didnt come today as predicted - ha! Yes, we did have some but not the 10 cms forecast! Charlie wasnt that impressed and Trigger definitely not! He went out , tested the snow and came in again. He then sat on the the radiator thawing out his feet. Poor Trigger.

snow!

Ughhh! we have been promised a lot of snow! This is how it is now from our verandah............doesnt look much I know! But it is quite deep..............as it snows more and deepens I will take another piccie....................

well I decided to come back and have another go! I am having teething troubles with the pictures , which is a pity cos I really wanted my blog to incorporate my sketchings .......................... so I will have another try with the teccie stuff and hope it works!

we have been forecast with over 20 cms snow tomorrow .......................that means shovelling ;-)

just a minor drawback of living in a beautiful country like Sweden.

in the beginning..........

ok and wow!

me blogging - well never thought I would do that - send my thoughts out to cyberspace, that is !

so..............guess its time for intros!

I am a textile artist ..........grand description huh? But I guess its what I do , but also its what I love to do! I make figures - I am very reluctant to call them dolls - so figures they are!

I dont earn my living at it unfortunately, so I work as a caretaker in a church and churchyard. I enjoy working outdoors and love the peace and tranquility in the churchyard. It also gives me ample opportunity to sketch and draw, and to work out new projects for my artwork!

2005 has been an odd year for me - very tough time at work - and very dry time in my art work. I totally lost all my inspiration and umph to do anything creative. But its coming back - thank God!

2006 hopefully will be full of art ..................................... I have 3 exhibitions planned and feel well on the way to getting to work again!

I have also joined the Yahoo group ' Everyday Matters' - a group that encourages sketching and being creative. Great idea . Great group. I need that .......................

On this blog I am intending to upload my sketches that I will do on a weekly basis. Some committment - so hope I will stick with it .......................

My intention is to start in the new year ..........but I will put up some of my artwork just to practise that teccie bit ;-)
